Just been there twice within 6 months and it was such a good experience. As someone who can speak fluent Korean and English, the Korean in the documents could sometimes get a bit overwhelming. The people there were extremely helpful and polite, aiding me on which parts to fill out and translating some of the harder Korean words while asking and confirming if I understood everything during explanation. Everything was very clear and was a smooth process. In n out in 10 minutes!

Mediocre quality of service. It’s not bad nor good. All depends on case by case. I’ve been there for years and they are good and kind relatively in general but not all the time. Don’t forget they work for the government but I haven’t felt deserved as proud of Korean well. It means they still have habits bureaucratically. Notice: office renovation is on-going!

I am korean and lost my passport in Miami. I called Atlanta and DC multiple times and no one answered. Was told to leave a voice mail but their voice mail box was full 🧐 so i called here. Someone answered right away and she was very helpful and cared about my situation. Thank you! …

The Visa process can be super confusing. The office staff was professional and courteous. We didn't come with cash and she held our paperwork until we got back from the ATM and then let us come straight to the window. It wasn't very busy and the visit went really quick!

If the way I was welcomed and treated today when I went to the Korean consulate this morning is any indication of how they treat foreigners in their country, I'm going to love living there for the next year! Wow! Outstanding customer service! The young man who waited on me was very courteous and helpful. Best experience in any foreign consulate ever! Looking forward to my stay in South Korea! ❤️🇰🇷

Whenever I call and ask them questions, they are never able to answer well at all. All they say is “go to this website and find out”. I have never gotten the workers’ names who I’ve talked with, but there seem to be two female workers who usual answer the phone. They even seem proud to say, “I don’t know about it.” (One question was, “If American citizens visit Korea with their Korean citizen spouses, can they quarantine together?”) The worker told me she doesn’t know about it and to call “the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Korea”. I should have gotten their name. I’m sure I’ll have this same experience next time; I don’t think they will be better on the job. So I’ll get their name then. Isn’t one reason foreign embassies/consulates exist is so citizens living abroad can stay informed without having to call offices back in their home countries? Why are these workers so lacking in knowledge and why do they take so much pride in this lack?

Mr. Kyungmok Lim has helped me so much and with so much respect and kindness! I wish to thank him in person one day. Mr. Lim has full knowledge of the rules. He always finds a way to find out more information and an exact answer when needed. I appreciate that he helps so many Korean families out here. I recommend going to Mr. Lim for any help.
